What is Operation Rescue & Return?

The mission of Operation Rescue & Return is simple: to rescue the lost letters and other assorted items that have belonged to our nation's finest sons and daughters and return them to supportive family members who cherish such precious things.

History holds in it stories of courage and valor. The hearts of war-weary soldiers have been cast aside into the poignant black hole of misplaced treasures. Our mission at Operation Rescue & Return is to secure possession of these lost gems and then research the stories of their owners in hopes of reuniting each gem with a member of the owner's family. Also, for the sake of preserving our nation's history, a copy of each item recovered is to be sent to the National Archives and Records Administration.

Heroes have protected our country for hundreds of years. It is only therefore right that we now protect them. The hearts of soldiers and their families have a special need to heal and this is one way to help make that happen. Herein lies our hope - that someone's heart might be healed, even just a tad, when they are reunited with a part of their loved one.

The hearts of so many of our soldiers have long since retired into heaven's rest so it is the preserving of their memories that helps to keep them alive in our own hearts.

Most of our items are "rescued" from Ebay and garage/estate sales. If you have any items like the ones mentioned above that you would like us to research on your behalf please feel free to contact us! You can reach us by email at turningheartsgenealogy@gmail.com or by phone at (505)417-9296.
